Managing Large Docs in MS Word

A handy tip for managing large documents in MS Word

I prefer to use Scrivener to manage large documents (that’s what I’m using to write my novel) but sadly, I am yet to take on a client who uses it. It would be AWESOME to structure a copydeck using Scrivner.

I use MS Word for my copywriting work. Sometimes the documents can become quite long, especially when you’re working on a 20-page+ website.

That’s when the MS Word’s ‘navigation pane’ comes in handy. Check out the video to see how it works.

How to activate and use the navigation pane

The navigation pane is a handy function that lets you see the structure of your document like a table of contents in the left-hand pane.

You can jump to any section in your document by clicking on the heading link in the navigation pane.

You can also drag and drop sections around in the navigation pane, which is so much easier than cutting and pasting large slabs of content.
